Welcome to my blog, My Franchising Journey. This space is meant to be a reflection, a documentary effort to share the experiences, lessons, and quiet moments that have shaped my decision to franchise my photography business based in the Philippines. It’s not polished or perfect (far from it), but I believe there’s value in the raw honesty of the process—before, during, and after taking that leap.
While my business is based in the Philippines, I believe that the challenges, fears, and triumphs I’ve experienced are universal. Whether you're a business owner in Manila, Madrid, or New York, this journey of mine might resonate with you too. The struggles of deciding to expand your business through franchising are largely the same, no matter where you are in the world, aside from the regulatory differences.
I can't claim to have "made it" (not yet, anyway), but I’ve learned a lot along the way about myself, my business, and the world of franchising. And if you're reading this, maybe you're standing at the edge of a similar decision. Maybe you're a business owner wrestling with the idea of expanding through franchising, trying to piece together what it would look like from the inside out. If that’s you, I hope this journey of mine can help offer some clarity.
Franchising is complicated. It’s not just about placing your brand into someone else's hands. There are fears, financial decisions, and the emotional weight of letting go (just a little) of something you’ve built with your own two hands. It’s tough, but it’s also filled with potential for growth, both for your business and for you, personally.
Throughout this blog, I’ll be sharing the struggles I’ve faced. There have been moments of self-doubt (because yes, they come in waves) and the victories, small and large. I’m not here to sugarcoat the journey. I want to give you a real perspective on what it means to take your business and turn it into a franchise, with all its ups and downs. And maybe, through my own experiences, you’ll find the answers you’re looking for, or at least feel a little less alone in the process.
Take a deep breath. Whether you’re just starting to consider franchising or you're already deeply involved, remember that clarity comes with time. We’re in this together. Let's explore this path with patience, persistence, and an openness to learn from the missteps (there will be plenty).
By the end of this journey, my hope is that you’ll be equipped not just with knowledge, but with a calm confidence in whatever decision you make. Stay tuned, and let’s walk this path together.
